1960s Witco Queen Headboard w/ Floating Nightstands in Tiki Carved Wood
-
Description
Probably designed by William Westenhaver, this wicked cool headboard was made by Witco, who popularized this style in the US after Elvis famously outfitted his "Jungle Room" with Witco. This example carries a much cleaner mid-century design languge, made of layered wood carved into the shapes you see here. At each end is a pair of floating nightstands, with a drawer and a shelf each. This bed comes apart into the nightstands and headboard unit for easier movement and threads together with standard imperial hardware (included). This is a queen, and fits a 60" bed width with some room for a frame. Precice dimensions in photos.
In good vintage and original condition. Signs of normal use, with no breaks or repairs. -
