19th Century Rustic Black Forest Mirror, Hand Carved, Austria circa 1890
-
Description
Mesmerizing, late 19th century Black Forest wall mirror from Austria circa 1890. This large, rustic wooden mirror has been elaborately handcarved out of basswood in the manner of tree branches and impresses with its unique radial carved corners. The beautiful darkbrown nearly black stained surface was sealed with mat varnish and enforces the fantastic patterns. The mirror glass has been renewed during the restoration process. A hand forged ring on the backside makes wall mounting easy.
