French 19th Century Walnut Rafraichissoir
-
Description
A French, Louis Philippe style walnut rafraîchissoir table from circa 1820. Functioning like a dry bar, this side table is adapted to keeping beverages cold–and your guests refreshed–by placing bottles in removable ice buckets set within the cabinetry. This example has two metal cellarette buckets to the back, with surface area at the front to prepare one’s drink. A tiny door in the apron opens to access the full compartment inside– perfect for storing bar tools or cocktail napkins. Gorgeous turned legs support two lower shelves. The removable zinc buckets could also be used for small houseplants in between parties. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this table is ready for your next event.
