French 19th Century Louis Philippe Solid Oak Enfilade

Description
An exceptional solid oak enfilade, hand-crafted in France at the beginning of the reign of Louis Philippe, circa 1830. The dark top surface sits over a row of three drawers in the frieze: left and right drawers open by carved & turned wood knobs whereas the center drawer uses a fixed key as a pull (lock is nonoperational). Reeded carvings around the drawerfronts create dimension and definition between the flat surfaces, a motif echoed throughout this expertly crafted antique, down to the escutcheons. In the case below, the left and center doors share a lock and key, opening onto a wide compartment with a fixed shelf, 17 ⅛” deep. The right door indicates the other cabinet, 17 ⅛” deep, with a separate lock & key. Raised on angular block feet–typical of the Louis Philippe fashion–this buffet is tall, sturdy, and built for longevity. Its timeless style would work well with almost any interior. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique enfilade is ready for your interior.
