TRAUM is the logical continuation of the GESTALT series, an introspective work, a quest for inner peace.
After questioning the multiple facets of reality, using the silver contact sheet to deconstruct reality and bring relief, abstraction and doubt to the linear reading of an image, Thomas Lang decided to delve back into the silver archives, forgotten films, holiday memories and other rolls of film accumulated since adolescence.

Looking at the past like a dream, with its share of light and shadow, making the negative positive, figuratively and literally, in life as in film, that's what this series is all about.
In the rest of the GESTALT plates, it's a question of transparency, the technical edges are visible, the negative is assumed, sublimated.
The dream is not reality, but it is still sweeter to see life as a dream.
