Great 18th century Italian painting, pastoral scene
-
Description
Great Italian painting from the mid-18th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting a splendid pastoral scene attributable to the Milanese painter Francesco Londino (the artwork is currently not accompanied by an expertise, but it is possible to obtain it upon payment of the relevant additional costs). He was famous for his rural scenes animated by flocks, cattle and peasant figures immersed in an idyllic atmosphere. In the foreground, in fact, the composition is dominated by a rich variety of farm animals, including cows, goats and sheep, arranged with expert balance. In the background, however, we see a shepherd playing the flute, while a young woman intent on spinning listens to him with interest. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting in small spots. Overall in good condition. Painting that is part of a pair, see photos and request the price as a whole if still available.
