Description
A monumental French 19th century Louis Philipe armoire of stunning walnut construction. Crowned with an understated cornice, two paneled doors show classic arches at the top like doorways, drawing the viewer in. Bookmatched walnut on the door radiates outward from the central pilaster decorated with marquetry bands in alternating dark/light wood that enhances the towering scale. The door on the right uses a working lock and key whereas the left door bears a decorative escutcheon; an iron hook mounted on to a shelf inside secures the door shut. They open to a spacious interior with three 18 ⅜” deep stationary shelves. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique armoire is ready for your interior. View the detailed images.
