Magnificent Victorian Classical sterling silver wine jug. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Globular bowl on bellied knop and domed foot; helmet mouth and high-looping handle. Dense repousse fruiting grapevine. Same applied to mouth sides. Handle has applied leaves and grapes with Bacchus head terminal. Incised twisted fluting. Gilt-washed interior.

A substantial sideboard showpiece that requires a strong arm and steady hand.

Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 10434, director’s letter T (1892-1902), and volume (9 pints). Very good condition.
