Description
George III sterling silver sugar basket. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1782. Ovoid bowl and domed foot; c-scroll swing handle. Pierced and engraved Neoclassical ornament including swags, lunettes, paterae, and Vitruvian scroll. Applied beading. With detachable cobalt glass liner. Fully marked. Very good condition.
