19th Century French Copper Lantern with Circa 1850
-
Description
Refined and timeless, this early 20th-century French lantern is a beautifully crafted piece that combines classical lines with the warmth of aged brass. The tall, tapered rectangular frame is constructed from solid brass and fitted with clear glass panels on all sides, allowing light to shine freely and evenly. Subtle brass finials cap each corner, while a flared crown adds architectural presence and elegance.
At its center, a four-light candelabra with faux wax-drip sleeves offers soft, ambient illumination. The fixture is suspended from a linked chain and original canopy, and one side panel opens for easy access to the interior. The coiled electrical cable is currently looped around the top canopy and can be adjusted to suit installation needs.
This lantern is ideal for an entryway, stairwell, or covered outdoor space where a classic silhouette and gentle patina will add depth and historical charm.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
