David Ebner, American Studio Craft, Ebony Wood, Modern Torii End Table, USA, 1984
David Ebner's "Torii" end table (1984) is a rare, early example of his work, possibly the first made in this series. Crafted from ebony wood, it features a rectangular two-piece top with four gently flaring turned legs, inspired by Japanese torii gates. The table is signed "DNE 84" and includes a Chinese character symbolizing peace, tranquility, and harmony. This piece represents a significant moment in Ebner’s career and is highly collectible.
