Venetian 19th Century Octagonal Mirror
-
Description
Late 19th century Venetian mirror in geometric, elongated octagon shape with acanthus representation at the crown. Each glass component is subtly etched in a floral-foliate motif to create dimension on the reflective surface, now mostly darkened by foxing around the perimeter which beautifully highlights the carving techniques along the beveled edges. The original, beveled mirror plate at center has a few spots of foxing but otherwise quite clear. Please view the detailed images.
