A beautiful japanned Nichols & Stone chinoiserie chair. The chair is in the japanned black hue, with gold stenciled details. The chair back is decorated with a different scene from early American history. This chair is a rare find, and in good condition for its age. It does have scratching, and some chipping in areas. Very structurally sound and would be fabulous for a study or bedroom in the traditional style. Nichols and Stone is the oldest furniture maker in the United States and is now under the well-known Stickley brand.
