Charlie Ferrer creates interiors defined by timelessness and comfort, derived from classical and modern inspirations. His design philosophy values richness, selectivity and restraint expressed through clean lines, supple textures and judicious use of color. Charlie regards excellence of craftsmanship and precision detailing as integral aspects of design.
In 2012, Charlie established FERRER as a new platform for contemporary design. Charlie conceived FERRER as a joint practice of interior design studio and design atelier. As an interior designer, Charlie combines custom work and pieces from FERRER’s inventory with vintage items and contemporary works from other dealers. As the curator of the design atelier, Charlie leverages talented artists to offer a tailored collection of original works to discerning designers and collectors. In both aspects of the practice, Charlie takes a holistic approach, adhering to a customized, intelligent, and collaborative design process. FERRER’s studio and show space are in New York City. The firm has ongoing projects in Los Angeles, Palm Beach, and Connecticut.
Previous to FERRER, Charlie co-created furniture collaborative MEIER/ FERRER in Los Angeles. Under Charlie’s stewardship, MEIER/FERRER evolved from a furniture studio into a design gallery showing an eclectic mix of contemporary art and design. From there, Charlie founded his joint practice firm and decided to delve into the world of interior design. Charlie has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, T Magazine, Architectural Digest Germany, Los Angeles Times Magazine and W Magazine, among other publications. He sits on the Commissioning Council of Performa; he is a member of the Institute of Classical Art & Architecture. He is also affiliated with Foundation for Contemporary Arts.
