Colorful Personality
Alive with unabashed color, this residence was built for non-stop celebrations. With sculptural furniture forms, tactile works of art, robust textures and confident patterns, this young family revels in the energized environment. Many Balinese and Indonesian antiques were creatively repurposed: the carved frieze became a mantel shelf and art brackets; geometric wood panels were used as wet bar cabinet doors; and an ornate, brass studded entry door was reimagined as the dining table top. No straightforward shades for sun control here; instead optical woven sheers cover amorphous wire frames creating suspended “clouds”, precisely located to dissipate intense sunlight. The multicolored bubble chandelier perfectly reflects the effervescent mood of this happy space.
