"Inheritable" Family Home
Our clients wanted an "inheritable" family home, one that was rooted in its location - the mouth of the Tarpon River where its flows into the New River in Fort Lauderdale. A style with English antecedents appealed to them, so together we came to Tudor. The challenge was to make a non-tropical house fit into a tropical setting. To accomplish that , we kept the woodwork light and gave it deep, outsized windows. We also wrapped a veranda around three sides of the house and ensured that the circulation plan would make indoor-outdoor living a true possibility.
