Swedish Mid-century Pair of Brass and Lacquered Steel Candelabra, By Gunnar Ander, Sweden, Marker Ystad-Metall, 1955 These branched candle holders, or ‘ljusstake’ in Swedish, are a modern interpretation of the classic candlestick that was once found in most Swedish homes. The black lacquered metal structure is composed of 6 asymmetrical arms that share the same curve except for the central pair that are perfectly straight. The arms connect at the base in the middle and are wrapped by a sculptural brass piece. H. 10.5 W. 11.5 inches. $3,000 |

A rare pair of large-scale tea cannisters with wooden lids over rounded tin bodies each elaborately decorated with bucolic scenes of a pair of figures in Chinese dress in a garden, with side panels of flower sprays and butterflies on a geometric painted ground.
