The Abingdon
Photography by Eric Laignel
The 1910 boutique resident complex on West 12th Street sits across the street from the quaint Abingdon Square in the West Village. 2Michaels collaborated with Flank Architects, Masters Projects Gallery and Pandiscio Co. on the model apartment in the 10i-unit neo-Colonial building. The 3,500 square foot space incorporates the pre-war concept of having a distinct kitchen, dining room and den. All units sold within nine months with one apartment selling for $25 million.
The refined furnishings were selected with a keen understanding of early modernism and neo-classic elements. Swedish furniture by Carl Malmsten and Kerstin Horlin Holmquist meld beautifully with rare Italian pieces from Gio Ponti, Guglielmo Ulrich, and Ico Parisi.
